Tis' the season to eat, drink and be merry. Oh, and lots of holiday entertaining. If you're hosting dinner at your place this season, we've got you covered with tips to help you throw the perfect dinner party, without the stress.
Eliminate the idea that stocking your bar cart or dinner party with variations of wine, vodka, tequila, etc. and think cocktails. Create one or two festive drinks that can be premade. This will allow for cost savings, will show off your Hostess with the Mostess party skills, and will keep guests happy all night. Drink dispensers are great for this.

Cook as many courses as you can the day before. The day of your soiree, you'll want to be stress free with little to no work to be done. Prepping also includes your servingware. Grab your servingware and lay them out as you would on the night of. This way, all that's left to do is warm up your courses, serve, and tweaking. Last minute things always come up and having a bit of time to tweak will be heaven sent.
Set the Mood & Vibe
Every dinner party needs three things: great food, great drinks, and a vibe. A vibe sets the mood and dictates how the evening will go. Seek the help of a music enthusiast friend to build a playlist, grab a few interactive games (you can never go wrong with Taboo, Uno, and Jenga). Lastly, the scent. Use what you have at home and play off of the holiday spirit. Our secret is easy- simmer a pot of water with cinnamon sticks citrus peels, and cloves on low. Refill every 1 hour with more water to keep the holiday smell flowing through your home. A plus? It will also rid your home of any strong smells of food.
Seek the Help of your Guests
Elect two to three friends ahead of your dinner party to help with any cleaning duties. After all, what are friends for? After all of the prepping and hosting, you'll need a few extra hands to make clean up less overwhelming.
